Dr. Uygar Özesmi, a social and environmental entrepreneur, started early on with ecology and environmental science, was a professor, UN Bureaucrat and leader of Civil Society Organisations. He constantly founded, invigorated and led organisations; ranging from the TEMA Foundation and BirdLife Partner Doğa Derneği, to the first Nature Conservation Federation and the first crowd-sourcing site in Turkey. Finally after Greenpeace Mediterranean, he is now with Change.org.

Question. Shouldn't the very best consultancies ultimately do themselves out of a job? Shouldn't the mark of a top-flight consultancy be one that helps build a visionary strategy, identifies challenges and opportunities - helps execute against those whilst ensuring that they build the knowledge and skills inside their client’s organisation to the point where they eventually hand over the controls?

Can you have it all?

When we first launched Six Degree People, we spent some time deciding on the types of businesses we wanted to work with and the common denominators of a great client. We decided that one description could be businesses where employees could "have it all"; working for organisations which were developing products & services the world needs more of, without over compromising on salary, which in turn created a work life blend or mix which was stimulating and sustainable.
